Fire safety in photovoltaic systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructures
As part of the Fire Safety Engineering (FSE) course within the Master’s degree programmes in Building and Civil Engineering, a Technological Lecture will focus on fire safety in photovoltaic systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructures.
The growing spread of these technologies poses new challenges in terms of fire prevention and risk management. The lecture will examine the main associated risks, addressing ignition mechanisms, regulatory aspects, design solutions, and strategies for risk prevention and mitigation.
The aim is to provide a clear and up‑to‑date reference framework to support informed and effective fire safety management in new energy infrastructures.
The lecture will be delivered by Ing. Claudio Giacalone, civil engineer and Commander of the Vercelli Provincial Fire Brigade, and is organised within the Fire Safety Engineering (FSE) course coordinated by Prof. Roberto Vancetti.
