Our Research Groups
-
ARTISTE - Artificial Intelligence In Structural Engineering
Our mission is to share our scientific research on AI in Structural Engineering, providing updates and promoting events to researchers, professionals, students, and enthusiasts. This website also fosters international collaborations.
-
REALSMART - REsearch on Smart Management, Maintenance and Digitalization of Infrastructure Assets
The Real-Smart research group is developing smart solutions for the management, monitoring, and maintenance of civil and industrial infrastructure assets. It integrates cutting-edge technologies such as AI, IoT, Digital Twins, and blockchain to enhance their resilience and sustainability. The group collaborates with international academic and industrial partners.
-
BIOMAST (BIO-MAterials and STructures)
At the BIOMAST Lab, we focus on applying structural mechanics to biomechanics. Our primary goal is to analyze frequently injured biological structures in humans and animals. We use numerical methods and experimental tests, integrating anatomy, physiology, and material behavior theories for thorough investigations.
-
ROCKMECH - Rock Mechanics, Geomaterials, Slope Stability and Tunneling
The Rockmech research group specializes in rock mechanics, geotechnical testing, numerical methods, tunnelling, and more. We participate in numerous national and international projects.
-
SOILMECH - Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
The Soilmech research group studies Soil Mechanics and investigates multiple fields of Geotechnical Engineering. Our interests range from Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering to Unsaturated Soils, Hydro-Chemo-Mechanical processes, Experimental Geomechanics, Site Characterization, Heritage Preservation, and Soil-Structure Interaction. The group boasts participation in multiple research projects and international conferences.
